School Fuel Launches a $250 Campaign to Stop State-Imposed Budget Cuts from Hurting Novato's Students
The Novato Unified School District is facing devastating funding cuts. Since 2008, almost $10 million has been cut from the state funding for our district and at least $2.8 million more needs to be cut from the budget for the 2010-2011 school year. School Fuel has launched a “$250 Campaign” to raise $250 for every student in the NUSD. If we reach this goal, we can offset the cuts that will be made in next year’s budget. View the Campaign Presentation.
Novato schools provide a fabulous education for our children and $250 per child is a small amount to pay to maintain this quality. Not everyone will be able to give at this level. We are encouraging parents to give whatever they are able. Some people may be able to fund an extra child or a whole class! For more information, see our flyer (Spanish). Also, please spread the word to other Novato residents.
We’ll be posting our progress on this website, and on signs around town. Our children only have one opportunity for an education. Together, we can make sure that they stay on track!
